Throughout the Blogosphere and family, I’m always amazed at the people I come in contact with who want to wish us well, pray for Zoe and her parents and offer up their strength through kind words and gestures.
I’ve created this page as a place for you to write whatever you’d like for Zoe and her parents to read. You can be funny, silly, you can even suggest a fun site for us to visit while we wait (nothing says spending time like webkinz!)
Whatever you choose to say, we thank you. We appreciate your support, your prayers, and you just stopping in to say hi to us all.
Thank you and God Bless you,
Aunt Nikki

This morning, Stephanie and I were at the computer and Mr. Kish walked up behind us and said, “Ya know, I never buy the paper but…..” Then he put the newspaper in between us and Stephanie and I both screamed…..”Zoe!!!!” We stopped everything and we read the article all about YOU!
Again, we are just so happy you got your heart and I am praying that “my song” I claimed for you … “I’ll be home for Christmas” will be true for you.
Do everything the doctors tell you to do and continue to be brave … you can do it, Sweetie!
Love,
Mrs. Kish

Dear Zoe and Chrissy,
Zoe you looked so good in the paper yesterday, our little princess. I can just hear you say “I know” and then turn those puppy dog eyes on us. And Chrissy when we walked into the hospital room Friday, from you I saw something that we had not seen in some time, that dynamic smile of yours. I cannot say how wonderful it was to see that it was back where it belongs. I will say that I could be doing the most mundane task and out of the blue, it will pop into my head the miracle our family has been given. I get a lump in my throat and then a huge grin crosses my face. I stop what I am doing and give thanks. (Which is about a hundred times a day). I hope that you have a speedy recovery Zoe. I love you both so much.

Hi Sweetie
What a lovely story & how pretty you looked all freshened up & sleeping like an Angel in the Chronicle. You made ‘FRONT PAGE NEWS’!! That is just so awesome. Grandpa & I must have bought 6 papers yesterday. Gabe, Grandpa & I went to I Hop for breakfast & I told Grandpa to get a paper. He was just a grinin’ when he walked back over to Gabe & I. Gabe right away…can I have the picture to hang in my room..so…thats when we decided to buy more papers. Gabe has his own. One is for Uncle Justin & I have extra if anyone else would need one. Uncle Justin is sooo very happy for you! He misses you very much & he will be home soon..just another couple of weeks! When we went into the restaurant Gabe started telling everyone in the restaurant that was his little sister. Our waitress sat down to read all about you & cried. We can’t wait for you to get better & this summer when you it’s ok for you to go out in the public we’ll take you there so you can meet everyone. We’ll see you soon. We have things for your tree that Gabe made with Grandpa yesterday.
Love you, miss you, hugs & kisses

You hit the big time now girl!!! Fox 8 news!!! Dick Goddard says you have an awesome right hook. Papa recorded Channel 8 news for me because I was at work during your television debut. I saw the story on the computer before the news came on. You look like you are getting stronger everyday. Kelley and Kristi both watched at home and called as soon as it went off to tell me how pretty you looked. My friend Amy called and did a play by play for me. Did you enjoy the fruit rollups Papa and I brought you this morning. Yummy Yummy in your Tummy. Love ya our little T.V. Diva.

Hello Zoe Honey Baby!
Just wanted to stop & say Hi & Goodnite. I hear you are doing better everyday. I gave money to Mommy for some of your bracelets I sold at work & there are a few people that want me to get more. Grandpa went to the Dr today & he is starting to come down with a ‘bug’ & I was snezzing today too. So we are going to take a little break & see you this weekend. We don’t want to chance you getting sick in case we are contagious. The Dr thinks Grandpa is mostly allergies & sinus infection but still …no chances!!! Not for you precious. Uncle Justin sends his love tonight & will see you in just 10 days by the time your mommy can read this to you. I heard from a cousin of mine that I haven’t seen a very long time & he will be coming to your spaghetti benefit…miracles like you sweetheart bring out the best in some people that we somehow forget is there…you are my miracle & my Christmas…I could not want for more…it’s like I told someone very special tonite….I could have holes in both my shoes & wouldn’t ask for anything this year for Christmas because having you with me, with us…is Christmas enough to last me ..my lifetime…nothing else matters …just you being here with us & Uncle Justin coming home to share all of it with us.
Nite sweetie….love you Nana

Hi Zoe and family. I just found out about your heart transplant and felt so excited for all of you. I was one of your nurses at the EMH ER and you guys have been in my thoughts ever since you were first diagnosed. I am so glad that you have come so far. I will keep you in our prayers and let the rest of the staff in the ER know about your miracle! You are a special little girl! I bet this will be the best Christmas ever!
December 18, 2008 at 8:57 pm
Zoe,
I have heard so much about you sweetie. I have a dear friend named KATIE who was one of the nurses on the PICU who took care of you. She was the one who told me about your website and I almost could not wait to see it. You and it are beautiful. I am so happy that you got your heart. You definitely deserved it. Katie, I think is one of the best nurses on that floor and talked so fondly about you. I think she misses taking care of you, but we all know now that you are much better off now. Anyways sweetie, I hope that you and your family have a very Merry Christmas and make sure that you leave SANTA lots of cookies and a big glass of milk. Congratulations again.
Love Tom.

Chrissy, Mike and Gabe- It has truly been a very long road and quite an adventure. You never gave up nor did you let anyone else give up either. It is difficult for famlies to go through such grief just sitting and waiting for a donor and when it comes……… you just can not express the emotions that follow. I have been in the medical field for over 30 yrs. and know how wonderful it is to see a life saved throgh this miracle! PLEASE, remember to have “ORGAN DONOR” put on the back of your drivers license. It is always asked when you renew it. Remember the agony of waiting as the Tanner family did. Just knowing you may save a life someday will bring joy to another family in need. I will continue to pray for all of you. Never take things like God, family and friends for granted. We have many blessings to be thankful for and we are thankful for the donor family. They have given “The gift of Life” and we are very thankful for the choice they made. Zoe will always have this little angel inside her, as she grows to be a healthy child given a chance to drive her parents crazy just like any other child. I am so sorry we will not be here to attend your dinner. I am buying tickets though. I have a gift for you too! I will see you when you are up to a visitor. Enjoy every day Zoe! Love Gayle and Criag

Dear Zoe: I teach those “old lady” exercises since I work in Physical Therapy. I know they are probably boring, but they really are important as is the walking! You do the best you can and it will get easier, so hang in there!
Have a good day. Love, Mrs. Nagy

Hi Zoe and family! Zoe, congratulations on your new heart! For those of you
who don’t know me, I’m a long-time friend of Bob Cornman.(We joined the
Navy together many years ago). Isn’t it amazing that Zoe at her age and
me at my age both received new hearts this year? I got mine May 13th.
I’ve been extremely blessed. My biopsy reports continue to show no rejection.
My doctors from UFShands Heart Transplant Center,Gainesville,Fl are really
leased with my progress so far. They seem to think I’ve done well because
I followed their instructions completely, especially in the area of doing all of
my exercises just like they asked of me. Keeping strong has a great deal to
do with being able to resist the stresses and strains that the body must suffer
from the trauma caused by the procedure, the meds and so on.
Zoe, I’m 65 years old, and haven’t a clue why I’m still here, or why this
wonderful event has happened to me, or why it has happened to you. But,
I do strongly feel that God had a reason for giving you and I this opportunity
to experience his love for us. May Jesus,His Father, and all of His angels,
keep you and I, and our families, in their strong and tender care during this
Christmas Season and throughout the rest of our lives as we continue to
show how well we can accept what God has given us to do.
With much love from one heart transplant patient to another.

My family had the chance to meet Zoe last Friday evening. We were at the fishtank on 4 with my niece when she came walking through those doors with her grandparents. Can I just say that she is such an inspiration. 🙂 To hear her story and see her was just amazing. Just a few short days after being in the OR and she was up and walking around. My entire family was just so inspired by her. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Merry Christmas.

Merry Christmas Zoe!
We have been praying for you and are so glad to hear the you were able to go home for Christmas. I have heard many good things about the Ronald McDonald House so I will look forward to hear about the things that you did there when I see you. I am sorry that you have not been feeling well the past few days but I am sure Dr. Boyle will know what to do to have you feeling better soon. I am glad that Gabe is able to stay with you at the Ronald McDonald House. I am sure that you have had a great time together. Please say Hi to him and wish him a Merry Christmas from me.
We miss you and hope to see you very soon.
Love,
Mrs. Milam

Hi Zoe,
It was so neat to see you on TV! I then showed the video clip that your Mommy put on this site to my family. It brings tears to our eyes to see how God did a miracle in your little life. We are sooooooooooo thankful for you and how God allowed you to receive a heart that was just right for YOU!
I am looking forward to the day when I will see you in the hallway and be able to give you a great big hug.
Please tell everyone … hello … especially Gabe. We miss him at school, too!

WELCOME HOME ZOE HONEY BABY!! I was so excited to hear that you were released today! I had to turn around & tell the girls that were still there that you were on your way home – how wonderful!!!! Be extra careful around others ( I will see you next week after I’m over my little bug – I’m taking my medicine too so I can get better) & be extra careful in public. Someone may not be sick themselves – but they can still be a carrier of all kinds of little viruses which is probably what caused all this in the first place. You can’t live in a bubble because that wouldn’t be very much fun – but don’t let everyone get in your face as much as you love them – that will be hard….the tiniest of cough or sneezes could hurt you but not them…You are so special to everyone & I know we will all take care of you…lots of love, a whole lot of kisses & hugs…Nana

Hi Zoe,
Hi little one! Are you enjoying your time at home now? I bet you’re doing very well these days! It must be so nice to be away from all those medical devices and everyone coming in and checking on you around the clock. Sleeping in your own bed must be really special to you now! My boys are hoping you’ll be back in school soon – and I’m sure the rest of the kids are eagerly awaiting that day as well! Keep doing what your parents and the doctors tell you too so you can get stronger every day! Thank God for this new heart of yours and how He’s healing you so nicely! Take care, Zoe ~Love, Valerie, Cameron & Ethan Honis

Hi Zoe….
God Bless you sweetheart. You do not know me but my son knows of your situation from one of your nurse friends at the Clinic. I am a nurse too and word travels fast about our special “little” friends. May God continue to carry you and your family in the palm of His hand always….and I hope spring comes very quickly so that you can go outside and have lots and lots of fun. Take care and be well.

Dear Zoe,
It is so good to know another little girl with the same name! I am a 38 year old Zoe and my daughter is a 9 year old Zoe (we call her Zoanna). I just found out last month that I have heart failure. You are an inspiration to me! My whole family is praying for you, Zoe. When someone calls my name or my daughter’s name, I will think of you and my spirit will be in prayer for you. I thank God that He is the strength of your heart and that He is your fortress. It is by the stripes of Jesus Christ that we are healed.
Congratulations to your mommy! It is hard work to graduate. I was getting my masters degree and student teaching when I had to be put in the hospital and found out I had heart failure. I also graduated- Praise God! Please pray for my healing as well. I got my teaching degree to be able to pay for my kids to get braces on their teeth. I know your mommy is working hard to make a great life for you, too. I know you are proud of her.
I look forward to hearing about your progress. You will continue to be an inspiration for me and my Zoe.
With lots of love in Christ Jesus,
Zoe Owen
